I installed a this Bravo trigger group in my Bushmaster QRC because the factory trigger was kind of gritty. It's slickern snot on the doorknob.

I see a few Mil-Spec trigger groups out there going for $200+. But I don't see how they could be much better than these. I think some people buy those cassette type trigger groups because they're intimidated by the idea of fumbling around while installing a Mil-Spec type trigger group.

Anyway, I just wanted to say that these Bravo company triggers are as good as I need for $70. I highly recommend them if you've got a gritty trigger on your AR and you're looking to upgrade without hurting your wallet too badly.

Basic milspec nickel boron triggers are the best bang for the buck in AR triggers IMO.

Both of my BCM's have their triggers, which I have not and will not swap out. I find them to be quite acceptable. All of my other ARS have SSA-E's.

How do they compare to a PSA EPT? I find EPTs to be pretty good for a mil spec trigger. I have several higher end cartridge triggers like triggertech adaptables in my hunting and accuracy builds but in my more rugged defense ARs I like the reliability and hard hitting of milspec type triggers.

Sometimes my higher end triggers won't ignite harder primers like no41s. I need to try some different springs in some ept's and try one of these bcm's. I could get by pretty well with one if I caught get the weight under 4 pounds.

For years my favorite ar triggers were the rock river 2 stage varmint triggers.i still run a few RR 2 stage varmints and can still shoot some good groups with them.

2 stage La Rue MBT or RRA NM trigger. Those are real triggers at similar prices. Safe too. Light pulls. Crisp with no movement generally.

Why anyone would want a single stage when you can get these is beyond me.

I just wanted a good mil-spec trigger. The trigger that came on it was pretty rough. My AR is pretty basic. A two stage trigger seems a bit exotic to put on a base AR.

I don't know. The Bravo trigger is a very noticeable improvement over the original.

What's the difference between a two stage trigger and triggers on many firearms that have "take up"?

Like that $99 SKS I used to have. I guess it had a two stage trigger. The trigger moved about 3/16" before it started pulling off of the sear,..lol.

I didn't know it was a design feature. I just thought it was a floppy trigger.

It is a good upgrade for what you want.

Calling the 2-stage exotic is bit of a stretch.

I won't be changing it out. The scope I put on the rifle doesn't have a battery in it, either.

I guess I'm an AR Luddite.

In fact, I've been seriously pondering getting one of these. I'll need to put a 3 prong flash hider on it, however.

Bristoe, if you can find an old Colt SP-1, grab it. Light weight, quite accurate and very reliable. Mine doesn't have the forward assist, but frankly, I've never missed it.

I'm quite sure I would have fun shooting an old Colt AR. I'd hate to see what one is selling for these days. I've been toying around with the idea of assembling an old school, triangular hand guard AR. But authentic type parts are hard to find and just an original set of furniture for one is fairly pricey.

Then Harrington Richards started manufacturing retro ARs and they get pretty good reviews--assembled from decent parts, evidently.
