I know I asked about this last year and something came up and I couldn’t go. Planning to go this year on my way to Missouri for deer season.
Really looking for pre 64 model 70 supergrade or a nice model 64 deluxe. Don’t know anything about it are there certain vendors you would recommend or just have to go look aisle by aisle??

I have never been to the Fall show but the Spring one is mind boggling. You will see LOTS of everything. FWIW, there was a SG 300 H&H in the classifieds about a week ago.
I am always looking for factory wood stocks!

'...Look up Michael Murphy & Sons, and Steve Rosser. Both these individuals usually have some really quality Model 70's If I were going, I would have three Super Grades to sell. But, alas, I am unable to attend this year. Good luck

I am feverishly filling my Piggy Bank for the March show. I was a bit of a maniac there last year.

Upstairs level - Look at the end caps on 8B thru 4B. These end caps are on the main isle running east and west thru the show. Downstairs Level - look at at end caps on C row. Sorry I cannot find a layout for the downstairs but if you walk the east west isle and focus on end caps you will find him.

Good chart Marley, you’re right, Steve Rosser is on the end cap every show where you mentioned, 8 thru 4. Mr. Taggert has some beauty’s as well, downstairs all the way against the exterior wall. If you would like, PM me for Steve’s cell number, great guy. Tell him what you’re looking for and odds are he’ll have it or a line on it. Also I would bet he has Mr. Taggert’s number as well.

So did anyone buy anything interesting?
I ended up staying home and building fence.
Winchester rifles and Swarovski scopes.

I thinned the herd a bit. There were a couple Winchester 86’s in 45/70 that I drooled over but 10K is a bit steep for me. If you’re going to a gun show, that’s the one to see.
Deadlines and commitments, what to leave in, what to leave out...

I went and looked at a lot of guns. Wow would need every bit of two days to see it properly. Pretty cool to see a lot of things in person I hadn’t seen before.
But overall was a little disappointed didn’t see that many supergrades and the prices were off the charts. It would be one thing if they were pristine guns but most had some issues and they were asking collector grade money. Then overheard sellers complaining they weren’t selling any guns not too tough to figure out.
Saw a few guys with a table full of pre 64 but a lot had issues. If you wanted a 270 or 30-06 you might have been in luck as anything that was primo was in those calibers and I already have fine examples of both. One really nice supergrade in 270.
I saw one standard 300 h&h that was a pretty good deal and probably should have bought it had a non original pad but fairly nice shape. Regretting it more now that I think back on it.

I picked up a first year 358 FW in superb shape. Witnessed a 7mm carbine sell also.

Not Tulsa, but had tables at the Lewiston Id show. A guy had a pre 64 model 70 in 300 Savage . First one I had ever seen .
