Here ya go - brown Pachmayer next to factory black. With that, my preference is a red pad.

I’m not at home but could post up pics later. I have a Pachmayr Old English brown decelerator on a SxS shotgun in order to bump out the LOP over the plastic plate. It looks great on that gun but overall I like red and would probably choose a different more contemporary looking model than the Old English one for a rifle.

I dug a picture up from my phone. I thought this was the Old English brown recoil pad but maybe it’s the red. I think it’s the red but it’s a reddish brown. It was new at the time of the picture but it does age like leather. The edges round off a bit and it takes a wrinkled look.

Brown then black.

A pad doesn't need to look like an afterthought and stand out too much.

All personal opinion.

I'm torn. Have one of each coming. Will decide at the last minute.
