I've plenty of experience with the 180 gr. A-Frame, but not the 165 gr.
What I'm thinking about is Sable, Oryx, Hartmann's Zebra.

I'd be launching them from a .30-06 24" barrel.

With decent bullet placement, and ranges at which impact velocity is above 1800 fps….. it should do fine. I would prefer a 180 over the 165 though! memtb

Not an A-Frame but have shot moose with 165 Accubonds and they worked well. Im sure the A-Frame would be just fine if not better.

No, but I have used 140s out of a 7x57 on nilgai. Worked perfectly.

Not a A frame but the 165 gr. Accubond from my 30-06, 24" barrel dropped a nice elk DRT. one shot. PJ

My wife used a 165 A-Frame out of a '06 on a zebra. One shot on the chevron and down.

My wife used a 165 A-Frame out of a '06 on a zebra. One shot on the chevron and down. Very nice. I run the 180 A-Frames ~2,725 fps. I'm thinking of running the 165's at ~2,850 - 2,900, wherever they're most consistent. Flatten the curve just a touch from the 180's. For the Oryx I'm tempted to load up some Norma Oryx just for the occasion. Just seems like the right thing to do...
