The powers that be changed from BB’s to #4 buck as the largest shot we can use on coyotes now. So I’m looking for recommendations for ammo and choke size in a 12 gauge 2.75 or 3”.

Been patterning 00 buck for pigs and I wish Federal made their flight control stuff in #4, that stuff in 00 is impressive.

I like 3" 41 pellet Federal with a choke from Improved Mod on up. What brand shell and what choke constriction can only be found by patterning different combinations. Anything anyone tells you can only be a ballpark estimate of what might be good from your barrel. The real work is yours to do.

Yeah, my problem is I can't find any locally and will have to order some in, hoping there was a general consensus on a few brands.

I've got a Benelli M1 with a 21" barrel and a Benelli M2 with an 18" barrel. You'd think that they would be at least similar but they ain't. The easiest thing for 00 is Federal with flight control wads. My 21" gun did best with IC but my 18" did best with CYL bore. Switch to Winchester copper plated and the 21" gun likes IM while the IM in the 18" gun throws them everywhere but where I want them.

Guess I'll just order a box of everything that looks decent and see.
Just a sampling here

I am GC in this thread. I started this search back in 2007 or thereabouts. I have two Benelli M1s and have three barrels, an 18.5", 24" and a 26". There is a lot of information scattered throughout this sticky thread.

Thank you. There are some really tuned-in guys with lots of experience killing coyotes with shotguns contributing throughout that thread.
