What kind of accuracy are you getting with the Kimbers?

The .223 Rem makes tiny little groups with 55gr ttsx and 60gr NPT. Ive never tried anything else in it. Didn’t have to.
The .243 shoots 3/4” at 100yds with 95gr Nosler BT. I knew that when I bought it though. It also shoots hornady 100gr interlocks into 1” at 100.

I’m not sure how a bullet can do better than the 55gr ttsx. I will say it does wreck some meat if you hit a shoulder. It doesn’t give big blood trails, but I haven’t needed them. Jack shot a mulie with it n sd and we watched it pour blood as it made the death run.
It really is the last rifle I’d part with.

That’s definitely one of my regrets. I wished I’d been smarter and snatched the Montana 223 up from Whitakers before they were gone.

That's exactly where I got it from. I wish they made one in a 22-250.

Tom - You have the Montana, not the Hunter?

Jeff, Both are Montana's. I'd not hesitate on a Hunter though. I've had a few but I do prefer the Montana. Long story...the .243 was a Montana that someone changed into a Hunter. The only difference in the barreled action is the Montana says "Montana" and the Hunter is stamped "Hunter" on the barrels. I found the parts here to change it back. The stock in actually dipped. I got them from MCMXI here on the fire. I sold the Hunter Stock and mag in the classifieds but I don't recall the price. Here is a pic of the stock. [/quote] They're the newer Montana stocks that can be sanded, unlike the old ones that were mix and filled. You could sand too far and ruin the stock. I have both set up with Leupold scopes. .223 Rem is a VX3-HD 2.5-8 and the .243 is a VX3-HD 3.5-10 CDS.

Thanks guys!
Dave, You'd think the colder weather would help with the muzzleloader...but the damn weather isn't colder!

We're losing snow again ! Hell, we never had any to start with. Fifty degrees here on Friday so like boiling in Canadian degrees. 😂😂

Little bro popped this in MO this morning. Bastard. I asked him how much damage to the truck but he got it with the bow. Little brother picking him up from the processor. 80lbs of trimmings. Butcher figures he was 230 lbs - dressed.
