I bought a Remington M700 VTR (I think) in 308 to help a guy out. I has the synthetic vented dual swivel stud stock & a 26" barrel. Shoots way better than I can, but the magazine length is too short. When I load bullets in the 165 - 170 gr. range & seat them out to almost touching the lands, the cartridge OAL is too long to fit into the magazine & when I seat the bullets to fit in the magazine, it doesn't shoot so hot. I could have the barrel set back some, but have lots of 308's, & was thinking about a 22-250 or 243 Win. rebarrel also. Maybe leaning toward a fast twist 6mm barrel to be able to shoot heavier bullets from the stationary deer blind.

VTR has the triangle barrel. Im not a creedmoor fan but a 22 creedmoor or a 6 creed would be nice if your into that but im an ackley fan. I know its not big increases. 6mm ackley or 243 ackley is what i would do.

Not sure why you’d pick a 243 over 6 CM if rebarreling

No logical reason but people get very weird when it comes to the cm.

I’m not a 308 Guy,but going AICS DBM and binderless mags,is a breeze. Notch feedramp and you have 2.975” COAL. Hint.

That being said, pass the SeexKreed,if only because I have multiples of each. Hint……………

I have converted three to 6.5 Creed and .260. I used the Criterion barrel nut barrels. Great shooters.

You did not "seen" anything, you "saw" it.
