Unlikely to happen, but in today's world you never know where this will lead.

California has become the first state to call for a Constitutional Convention for gun safety. The Right to Safety Amendment would ensure the
people’s elected representatives can determine what gun safety laws are appropriate for their communities and enshrine fundamental,
broadly supported gun safety measures into law, including:

• Raising the minimum age to buy a gun from 18 to 21
• Mandating universal background checks, instituting a waiting period for all gun purchases, and
• Banning the sale of assault weapons and other weapons of war to civilians.


Triggering the convention will require 33 other state legislatures to pass a similar resolution.




The most amazing thing is that a person would believe that their elected officials could determine what is appropriate.

You need two thirds of the state's legislatures to call for a CC, that's 34.

Any new amendments require three quarters of the state's approval, that's 38.

Good luck getting that many state's to simply agree to give up their rights as they are currently protected.

There are reasons our Constitution continues to hold fast, and why fu-cking liberals hate it to death, it is extremely difficult to change.

In the Spirit of 76- - - - the rest of the country should call for a second American Revolution. Once the current corrupt regime is swept out with the trash, then we can have another Constitutional Convention. The Ship of State has too many holes in to to stay afloat- - - -scuttle the thing, lay a new keel, and start over.

And there are 27 states with constitutional/permitless carry. You think 10 of those will vote yes?

You can't legislate away a right. You can't add an amendment to negate another.

There is a process to change the Constitution. Its in the Constitution

That was announced back in September, it was just a grandstand play for Newsom to add a page to his job resume for replacing Joe. They are not nullifying the Second. They want to give regulatory control of the Second over to (some cases) unelected bureaucrats.
