Was on my own for lunch today and remembered that a local place has a Thursday special of C&W for $5. Went down there. It's one of those places that is sit-down but you order and pay first like fast food. Anyway, the clerk/server was a "mixed pronoun Target shopper" if you catch my drift: earrings, eye shadow, lipstick, hint of a lisp. I elected to not see the tip selection on the checkout machine. The $5 special plus coffee and tax came to $10.
Meal was really good, though.

Jim, it's really good. It started out as a meal for folks who got off at O'dark thirty who couldn't decide if they wanted supper or breakfast. Turned out to be a splendiforous combination like PB and jelly. If you're ever 500 miles from home where they have actual restaurants (pulling your leg there) you might try it.

I never was a fan. That said, I like both of them in the proper context. 😄

You guys sayin' that only Black folks like fried chicken? Or waffles? I suppose only Italians like pizza too, huh? And nobody but Germans like brats. Only Mexicans eat tacos?
You folks are nuts.

Never tried it, but I did once order Chicken and Crabcakes over on the Maryland Eastern Shore. Two big, excellent crabcakes and half a fried chicken. Not too shabby!
What fresh Hell is this?

The chicken and waffles my grandmother made in PA was chicken from the pressure cooker and weak gravy on the waffles. No blacks to be seen, for many miles. Never understood why in other places of the country I’d mention chicken and waffles and the called it black food. Haha I had no idea they were talking about fried chicken on a waffle

Was introduced to fried chicken with honey as a kid! Superb!!!! Any fried food is excellent with something sweet! It's that "salty/sweet" thing! A big old cat head biscuit with a sausage patty and a spoon of jelly makes a hell of a snack when you complete field dressing your deer! BTDT! Awesome! Blood and all! LOVE super spicy breakfast sausage with pancakes, waffles or biscuits drowning in syrup or honey. ....and I like honey on my pancakes or waffles.
