Early (rheumatoid) arthritis in the hands and right knee. Who's got the best non-prescription home remedy for the working man who has to take a pizz test consistently? Temporary relief obviously.

If you are not actively engaging EVERY enemy you encounter... you are allowing another to fight for you... and that is cowardice... plain and simple.

Isn’t rheumatoid arthritis a auto-immune disease? That is a whole different animal than typical arthritis. I believe much of the treatment is geared towards knocking down the immune system to restrict the progression of the arthritis. The even use chemotherapy for this at times.

Rheumatoid arthritis is a completely different animal than osteoarthritis. If allowed to progress RA can do serious damage to the joints and a painkiller won’t stop that process. Do a search for RA symptoms and you’ll find a list of about ten questions that can point you in the right direction. That’s what I did with my wife and when I went through the symptoms, I got our doc to run a test and sure as shootin’ it was RA.
Go to a rheumatologist and get formally diagnosed. They will generally start with methotrexate and if that doesn’t work they can put you on a biologic or both.

I've had Rheumatoid Arthritis for more than 20 years. Up until just recently, I was taking 20mg of Methotrexate weekly until it started effecting my liver ( a common problem with many medications). These days I get two infusions of Rituximab two weeks apart twice a year and it works very well. I doubt there are any home remedys capable of relieving the symptons and progression of RA. Disease modifying drugs are really your only option.

I had / have juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, It has and will make a mess of me. I am 58 years old, thus far my hands and neck give me the most issues. But, all I have to do is wait, it will cripple me like it did back in my high school. i missed and entire year of school because of it. I needed a walker just to move around. Terrible.

Voltarin cream was a prescription lotion NSAID but is now over the counter. It can be effective for arthritic pain and reducing inflammation. It comes with some pretty specific instructions for use and is not to be used long term. I have used it conservatively with success. May wanna read up on it and see if might be beneficial.

Look into low inflammation diets and fasting. Quality Omega's exercise lose weight There is quite a bit of scientific work being published on diet and auto-immune diseases recently. A common thread is that, as pointed out, a low inflammatory diet (low carb among other things), high fish oil intake and supplementation with vitamin D (as needed) can both prevent the onset and the rate of progression of auto immune diseases.

Ignoring RA, trying to treat it like typical arthritis won't help it.

I believe much of the treatment is geared towards knocking down the immune system to restrict the progression of the arthritis. The even use chemotherapy for this at times. Diagnosed w RA this year. Weather is a b*tch and my job is also physical. The big swelling and howling pain hasn't come back since on meds (knee/wrist). But its ladder stand hunting tomorrow as my feet and one ankle are kinda fugged up. Always something jacked, then you try to compensate and screw something else up. Active so had aches n pains, but this was different. Subtle for a few yrs, but not anymore. Knew something was wrong and reg doc was a dumbass, blew me off. Finally when it got bad enough, a wrist specialist knew and sent me to a rheumatologist. So far, from my experience, it is NEVER going to be good. Its just a game of tolerance. Meds mess stomach up......even on a decent day, I always feel blah. Welcome to the new normal. Always uncomfortable.
