Gents,
I was reading something -- it might have been an old catalog -- that mentioned a Super Grade M70 having a bakelite forend tip. Without ever really thinking about it, I guess I just assumed that on older M70s, the forend tip was really ebony, not synthetic or dyed hardwood. So, my question for you M70 experts: were factory super grades ever leaving New Haven with real ebony forend tips or was it always a lookalike/alternative material?
