Asking 'cause one of my friends says that he almost lost a deer because the bullet hardly expanded and didn't hit any bone on its way through and through. He said that the range was around 150 yards, 6.5 CM with the 125 grain Deer Season Copper Impact XP. He has shot deer with the same rifle, but using the both Hornady and Winchester 129 grain cup and core bullets, not the Copper Impact style. I wondered if anyone else has had the same experience.

He recovered the deer about 100 yards from where he shot it through the lungs about half way up the body. He said that the body was full of blood, but the lungs weren't damaged nearly as much as when hit in the same general area with the regular cup and core bullets. He said that there was very little blood trail to follow and that the exit hole was only about as large in diameter as the tip of his little finger.
