Does anyone have any idea what the thread size for the front sights? I have some very small taps. Not sure what correct size tap tho’. MTG

Maybe 6-48. Mine was, but different models, different years could be different.

Some of these old guns have been modified a time or two.

If you have "some very small taps" try what you have in the existing hole and see what it is. If you have the screw to fasten the front sight down, measure it and check a chart. If all else fails, drill it out and tap it a little larger.
