Didn't go this year due to some family medical issues, which thankfully are resolved for now. I'll see about next year.

Shot a smallish buck and missed a doe.

Oldest son killed a 180 pound 8 pointer
Youngest son killed a 175 pound 7 pointer with a 21 inch spread and a small doe
Buddy killed a 185 pound 8 pointer
I, on the other hand, didn’t

Nothing. Saw nothing. Only one set of tracks since the snow last weekend.
However TODAY of course ( Sunday, after yesterday's close of muzzle loading season and official of deer season), there were 4 sets of deer tracks across my back yard. They learn how to read the hunting manual when deer season starts and ends. NOW they will be out and about in force.

And of course, day after the season ends here we finally got a little snow on the ground even though it probably won't last.

Yep, that's what I'm after. Nice one. Any deer you get in those woods is an accomplishment

Have hunted Sherman Mills area, Patton, Rangeley and Hudson. North woods deer are tough and if you blow a chance, get in the car and drive home. Haven’t been to Maine in a few years, I’ve outlived my old hunting partners there.
