I think that's the twist rate on this gun. Please feel free to confirm/deny. Axis II bought new a couple years ago. https://s3.amazonaws.com/mgm-conten...1_savage_axis_22_250_heavy_barre_640.jpgOr should I just get 55 gr Fusions for the GF's son? LGS has a bunch of the Win but only two boxes of the Fed.

I think I’d try the 50gr TSX first.

I believe that the 64 grain PP was designed to work in 1-12" ROT 223s, so there isn't any reason that it wouldn't work at least as well in a 1-12" ROT 22-250.

My .220 Swift has a 1-12” twist (Douglas barrel, not factory) and it stabilizes my handloads with the 62 grain Sierra Gameking BTSP’s just fine!
I am sure the 64 grain PSP factory loads will shoot just fine in your 1-12” twist.

What is the length in the PP??
If same or shorter than a 60 grain Partition then it will be fine as I shot the Partition from a 12 twist 22-250 Savage for a good while.

Speer has or had a 70 grain bullet that fellas used to load in 22-250’s. I assume they were mostly 1/12-1/14 twist rifles back in the 70’s and 80’s.

The Winchester 64gr PP works just fine in my M700 Classic in 22-250. I also shoot the Speer 70gr for whitetails. Neither shoot as well as the lighter HP and plastic tip bullets, but both will stay under an inch for 3 shots.

I have a couple 12 twist savage rifles that will shoot the 63 gr. Sierra SMP's into one hole all day long. They also stabilize and shoot the 70 gr. Speers ok but not as accurate as the Sierra.
