How many and what condition? I have done several estates and often the family has higher value on the guns than they will bring. Condition is everything and how many is important..

Contact Rock Island and get the facts from them. I sold a rifle thru Julia, now out of Bus, but with them commission went down as value went up. They gave me a range, and it was pretty accurate. I would say try to get a letter on anything you can, it really helped on my Winchester.

Rock Island charged 6% commission three years ago when they auctioned one of my collectibles. It was sold for twice what I considered its value to be. They were very easy to deal with, highly professional & very straightforward and communicative. I have their business card if you want the contact info.
By the way, in case you missed it, Jeremiah was a bullfrog.

Condition is everything and how many is important.. ….and oftentimes with estate sales old Colts and Winchesters are significantly undervalued by the family. Most blue books including Flaydermans do not come close to real market value of old SAA and Winchester levers, the selling price is much higher.

Most blue books including Flaydermans do not come close to real market value of old SAA and Winchester levers, the selling price is much higher. It CAN be higher, as you mention... But when dealing with old Colt's and Winchesters, you'd better know what's what, and all the factors involved, from both the buying or selling end. I've known some heavy hitters in the field, and even they get the shakes at times.

I know 2 people that had extensive collections. Both long time collectors / dealers / GS owners with 1.5 + M. each. Both badly screwed by RIA . Expensive items sold to acquaintances ...never made the auction.
