If this doesn't work, is there a way to turn the HTML on for the posts?

I don't think there's any way to do HTML code. Using your URL's listed above, making them secure by adding an "s" to the end of "http" and removing the "?1" parameter displays the larger images below. But I never use imgur.com so I'm not sure if there's a better way. If they have a BBCode link, that's what you should try.
