I have a Dozier k4 straight hunter and Ingram 4L as small and handy..

I wanted one of Genes B&T #4 as something with decent reach and a little less belly on the blade, but the demand on his knives has outpaced my budget.

Charles May makes a great B&T knife. I had Charles reduce his B&T a smidge for me to make my perfect small game knife. Charles calls this pattern the Teal...

The most economical way to go is with a Victorinox paring knife...

I am a B&T slut no doubt. An Ingram #3...

Not a B&T, but goes with the 'more reach, less belly' criteria. I believe it was labeled a spear point, but looks like it could be a blend of drop and spear point shapes to me. One of my favorites - I like the 'more reach, less belly' for most of my uses.

Gerber Pixie?

But Victorinox paring knives are inexpensive and if you lose one you can just order another one from SMKW.

That Charles May Teal is one nice knife. I have one of his and wish I had more. Menefee is a work of art. Love the 12 ga.

Victorinox and Dexter Russell make some good “economical” options. AG Russell Woodswalker also a possible option.

I have 3 similar to that from M.E. Miller. Send him a photo and ask him to make you one. I have been impressed with his knives and they are easily obtainable.

Jeff Oelke also makes some nice knives.

Lucas Forge another great maker.

I've a few Vick paring knives. Handy for sure in day to day use. I looking for something sharp with GOOD edge retention.

Mog, it's not nice to tease 🙃. Charles may be the way to go... But that b&t #4 pattern still speaks to me...

From your post seems budget is a limiting factor?

What is your budget?

Somewhat flexible.
Id like to stay $200 or less.
$375 is certainly above what I'm looking to spend.

Either:

Grab a commercial paring knife for less than $20 from your vendor of choice, and order a May or Krein or Menefee;

Or, grab a Cold Steel Mini Pendleton in 3V for less than $60 (my choice) and order a May or Krein or Menefee;

Or, buy a Benchmade Flyway…(great knife!)

All great choices. I'm not familiar with that Tribes from Charlie, it looks like it has the Bout All handle. I like it!
