I've never encountered one like it. This is on a rifle a friend is considering buying and is having me look over.

An image search for "Custom Mauser 98 safety, left side of shroud" turned up only one very fuzzy image with no other information:

and it isn't exactly the same. I'll get a look at it this afternoon.

I do not know who made it, but I would love to have a hand full or two!

Brno M21/22 came with a similar safety. I have a std 98 shroud that has been altered to function similarly.

Like z1r said , that came off a post war czech brno mauser sporter. have one just like it on a 284 win sporter

I could use one of those right now.

Maynard Buehler made an after market. I don't know if it is similar. This one has been sitting in my misc. parts box for a few years, figure someone will ask for one someday.

I have a similar on my 98, left side, .243 and a little different one on my 6.5 Swede. I think they are both Buehler.
