For me the ergo's of the McMillan Hunters Edge completely suck compared to the standard Bansner M70 stock. I've had about 1/2 dozen McMillan Hunters Edge's for M70's. I got rid of my last one a few years back and will go Bansner's from here on on out.
The only thing wrong with that stock is that the forearm is a little to short for a 24" barrel, not quite as bad with a 22", but still a little short.

I agree.

We'll have to agree to disagree. The comb geometry is absurd in a supposedly modern stock design. A real recoil turd, that edge fill only makes worse.

I will say I have quite a few pre 64 M70 featherweights in the MCM compact edge and rather like them, but my heavy kicker ( M70 300 H&H) sits in a MCM Echols Legend (edge fill) and that stock handles very well. I've just wrapped up the stock work on my current model EW 30'06 build using the Bansner miller stock and so far that stock fits me well but we'll see if that rings true after I get some shooting in.
I’ve owned McMillan Supergrades, Classics, Featherweights, a Banser and an MPI. I prefer the extreme weather stock over all of them. Just goes to show how personal stock fit can be. To me the extreme weather is the easy button and I wouldn’t change a thing!

I'll be listening. With it being very difficult to get Legends, the Miller Classic seems like the new go to.
I got my first Bansner in 2004. Put it on an M70 30-06 Fwt. The stock handled the recoil beautifully. Later, around 2008, because Mcmillan was the "easy button," I went the Hunters Edge route, putting a pre-64 30-06 Fwt in a one. Definitely more noticeable recoil. But I'm a slow learner, and ended up with another 6 Hunter's Edge's (another 30-06 Fwt, a 270 Fwt, a 308 Fwt, 308 EW, a 300 WSM, and 300 WSM EW). Again, the easy button. I got rid of my last and have gone back to Bansner's. I have a current one that is going on an M70 EW 6.5CM. I find the Hunters Edge comb and hard Edge fill magnifies recoil compared to the Banser comb, fiberglass shell, and traditional foam fill. Some years ago I shared my thoughts with Dober. He replied, "I thought I was the only one that hated that stock!" But we do tend to like the same things...

I don’t mind them myself but they aren’t Legends for sure. I need to get on the ball and order a Banser up just to see. If I like them I can see a few rifles getting updated.
Winchester has long sucked ass, with stock designs. The EW simply blows most of their efforts away. Hint.
When it comes to aftermarket handles, pass the Sako Hunter and hold The Fluff. Hint.
Just saying...............

Mark is turning out some high quality stocks right now. I need to try one of his drop in ready versions. For the price, I think it’s a bargain.

I agree on the bargain part, my concern is the lack of any checkering and that's the reason I went with the Micky. The Bansner does look like a nice stock though so perhaps the next one I "need" will be one of them.
The scope and mounts, are pieces of fhuqking schit, but I actually shoot. Hint.
Just saying, that Fluff don't make a fhuqk, but Rugged Reliability do. Hint.............

The fit and finish of the Winchesters M70's assembled in Portugal is very nice. If a person likes control-round-feed and the stock works for them, it is hard to find a nicer option.
