I am seriously considering buying my 1st lever action rifle. Henry X synthetic.
.360 Buckhammer would be the caliber.
before I shell out a thousand bucks, I wanted to get an opinion from members here about the rifle.
thanks

The rifle is solid, if YouTube is to be believed. The styling makes me throw up in my mouth a little, but if you like it and it serves a purpose for you, have at it.
If you really need the tactical features, there are lots of .350 Legend ARs that will provide them too. The .360 is a bit more powerful, but not all that much.
What fresh Hell is this?

I don't think you can go wrong with a Henry. I'm more old-fashioned when it comes to a lever but various likes are what makes the world go round.

I have a Marlin 336 with a plastic stock, maybe Ramline/Champion, and the felt recoil seems greater than the same rifle with a wood stock. I don't like the way it looks, but I never use it, so it doesn't matter.
I've never seen a rifle chambered for or a single box of ammo for the 360 Buckhammer. From a practical POV, doesn't the 360 Buckhammer fill the same market niche as the 350 Legend?

Henry is good to go. The tactical lever guns I have handled are on the heavy side for what its worth.

Kinda, but is a bit peppier and works in lever actions and others that prefer a rimmed case. Cascade and his pal Gavin have played with the tactical Henrys. Seem to work well. “To each his own”, said the lady as she kissed the cow…..

I bought an X model in 45 Colt a couple of months ago. I bought it because I wanted it for hunting, knocking around and a house gun. I like how it fits and it's smooth and very accurate. I very much like traditional wood and blue, but this one is exactly how I wanted it set up.
I put a 1-4x20 Leupold in detachable rings on it. I hunted with it opening weekend in Miss. and used it to kill a doe at 78 paces with an offhand shot.
Very happy with it.

good info guys. thank you. Sounds like they are worth the $1,000.
I'm sorry, but the 350 Legend can't hold a candle to the .360 buck hammer. (300 FPS difference and uses .358" bullets vs .355") It's the best of all the straight walls by a wide margin, including the .450BM.
I currently have (3) Bellm chambered .357 Max barrels (Encore and Contender), and love them, but they are not in the same category as the Buckhammer. They will probably all be rechambered to the hammer.
I really want a Lever gun as I've never owned one, actually never have shot one. The synthetic stock will be nice to have in our Michigan weather, and I don't mind thee looks at all. I've owned many rifles that people think are ugly: 3 Blaser's, 5 encores, and a Browning Cynergy sporting clays gun. Guess what? they are all awesome, I love them.
