My son has a Sightmark Wraith and the Illuminator is not worth a crap. I really dont know much about Illuminators but would like some recommendations on good quality units and battery suggestions as well. Seems to be some kits out there but may be junk.

Can a light help to get good image out to 250-300 yards?

Thanks for any help.

I went with a Coyote Cannon which only needed a low setting. It adjusts for best setting for surroundings. Real high humidity or snow can reduce distance quickly or give youblack and white snow screen.
The canon is a little bulky and heavy, maeaning you could get away with a lower model. Used 850 bulb and 21700 battery which lasts a long time even though I always carry a spare. Have easily taken a couple hundred coyotes with it from 10 yds to 240 yds.
Replaced adjuster switch cap recently as it became unreliable.

Take a look at Wicked 850 light set up. If you like the sound of it I have a kit, new in box at a good discount price. PM if interested.

both of those look pretty good, very similar. Meeting with my son tonight and we will have to talk more about what he has found.
Thank you.

Sniper Hog Lights. I think I'm up to six of them from the 38 through the Coyote Cannon. My recommendation would be to get the 66 with the Turbo IR. The Coyote Cannon will give you more range but the 66 will get you your distance(s) with less than half the weight.
