I bought this rifle about 3 weeks ago. It had some creep in the trigger, so I had my gunsmith do a trigger job. Also, I took note of another post on a new R/M .357 about sharp edges. I called my gunsmith and had him check mine. He found a couple of burrs, so he went ahead and polished the edges of the loading gate and opening.

I went to the range today and have to say, I was happy with how it shot. I got on paper with a Winchester factory load that shot 2.5 in groups. After getting on and adjusting for my hunting load, I shot this group. I will say this load has now shot very well out of two Henry .357 and now this R/M. I'm leaving a little velocity on the table, but it's very accurate out of the guns we've shot it through. My 11 year old grandson was shooting pieces of clay pigeons on the back stop and had a grand time with it.

Great shooting. I kinda miss having my 1894 Marlin. 357 mag around. Traded it off many years ago when funds were tight and a vehicle was broke down. Still run over and look at them on gunshow tables.

I'd call that very good accuracy from a Ruger pistol caliber carbine.

Looks pretty good. Were you using a scope? Curious.

I prefer classic.

I have a later production remlin. Mine prefers heavier bullets. The 158’s seem to do the best. Mine is one of my funnest guns to shoot. I throw a belt bandolier over my shoulder and walk through the sage blasting jack rabbits. I can top off the mag without even breaking stride. It’s light and handy. Everyone needs one.

Yes it's scoped. I could work on load development, but I'm good with how it is shooting. That's going to work within the range I'll use it.

I see the Marlin has a 1:16 twist and Rossi does 1:30. That’s a large gap, and I’ve been trying to figure what works the best for mid weight bullets.
