Other than spending $14/month for a premium membership, is there a way to watch their videos without all the ads? Last night I waited through 7 min of ads to see a 2 min video. It's absurd.

I've never seen a ad on YT. I browse with the same Opera browser I been using for the last 20+ years and use the ad blocker Opera comes with.

Firefox using private browsing stops YT from detecting your ad blockers.

I use Brave which has built in ad blockers but YT ads get through them. It's hard to watch anything on there any more.

Brave with uBlock Origin here. No ads of any kind anywhere. It's not the only solution, but it's a really good one.

I'm seeing lots of ads where there is no skip button.
All this started a couple weeks ago. They must have found a way around the Brave adblockers.

Firefox with uBlock Origin and Ghostery and AdBlocker Ultimate. Sometimes when YT tries to stop the adblockers, I just play around with which extension keeps blocking the ads.

I get Brave updates about once a week, sometimes more. uBlock Origin self-updates if you check that box under Settings.
It is a constant offense/defense war. The minute one side comes up with a new "weapon" the other side counters with a new "defense" against it. That's why updates are important.

Yeah, it's become a real problem lately on my iPhone. Used to be, till recently, as long as I was signed into my account, I saw zero commercials. Now being signed in makes no difference. Oddly, though, my MacBook seems immune to them. As long as I'm signed in to my YouTube account while using my MacBook, I never get ads. I hope they don't figure out how to defeat that.

uBlock & AdNauseum... no ads on YT. Another reason why I rarely watch YT on my phone as the ad blockers don't work as well on mobile devices.
