My grandson got one for his first gun (synthetic stock tho). He’s in his first year of college and the 10 year old granddaughter now has it since they moved out of an apartment complex and back in state. Hard to keep her in ammo. Great little guns. I see where one Fire member uses his with CB caps to cull hogs in his back yard. Single shots make you wait for a killing shot. I also sent 2 Daisy BB guns there way along with BBs. I had a Winchester 67 and an Ithaca 49; both single shots. Made me the rifleman I am today.

A three barrel set is nice. A .22 LR, a varmint barrel like the .22 Hornet you have or a .223, and a good deer caliber barrel like the 7-30 Waters or .30-30 and he is set.

My son is digging his .22 as well, but it's not that cool. That is a fine one! Thanks. Should make a 100rnd box of rimfires stretch out at least for five minutes. Lol My dad gave him a 500 round brick of CCI mini-mags. Did he sleep with it next to his bed? 😁 I told him he had to put it in the safe with dad's guns.lol He will remember that gift for the rest of his life! I know I did when I got my first .22. I'm looking for deer caliber barrel. I bet there is a smile from ear to ear! Like others have said a Christmas he will always remember. Thanks Dean.He hasn't stop pestering me about taking it out of the safe to clean it again.I had him put a coat of wax on the stock and forearm. Great rifle for a kid, Awesome!! Thanks.

I found a .22 Hornet barrel for this T/C and I'll give it to him for his birthday this spring, just in time for hunting ground hogs. That'll be even mo cool.

Wonderful gift, rte. And that hornet barrel on a contender frame sounds like a match made in heaven.
My boy got a cap gun revolver and a Lil Indian recurve from Santa and has the same pride of ownership sounds like your boy has.
I thought it was great buying myself a bow/gun. It’s 10X more fun seeing my kid’s face glow when he opened it.
Hope you and he make some great memories on the range and in the field with them.

What a great set-up! Is the barrel a bull barrel or tapered?
