I took my grandkids snow tubing this afternoon and thought i was in a third world country. There were more foreigners than locals and i felt like a minority in our little north carolina mountain town. It wasn’t but a few years ago when we go out in town we knew most everyone,now we dont know them nor do they speak our language.

Feels like I live in the barrio. It was a normal, mostly White, small Southern town when I moved here 20 some odd years ago. Now I need to brush up on my Spanish to speak to a large percentage of the people I see here on a daily basis.
