The 22/410s are nice to carry, one of my favorite woods loafing guns is a 24 in 22M/410.

I recommend the Brenneke 3" slugs if you intend to shoot slugs in it.

I have a USAF marked one with or a rack ID number that is stamped on the bottom of the receiver, forearm, and barrel. researched it i found that these where made in the late 1940's and early 50's and used by the air force as survival guns. I'm surprised how accurate it shoots.

My Dad had a Stevens 12 ga double with Tenite. The stock cracked, sent it back to Savage and they fitted a walnut stock. That was in the ‘50’s. Doubt you’d get that service today.

Be careful with it. That stuff can get brittle with age and can crack.

That one must have been a closet queen, not used much at all.

Dad's Tenite shotgun was WWII vintage; he bought it right after the war. Seems walnut was going to military rifle production and Tenite was used on commercial guns.

So, given that, what's the vintage of yours?

Neat find, had one the same in 410/410. My tenite had quite a bit off cast in it, don't think it was a factory option. My Dad had a mod. 311/12ga with the tenite stock that still looks good. If you put some silicone on it the guys at the gun club run over to see the nice wood you have, funny. GWPGUY. 🐾👣🇨🇦

I killed my first deer using a slug with one just like it in December of 1963. My Dad won it on a “punch board” game right after WWII. I gave it to my son about 10 years ago! memtb

That would be a fun gun, looks in great shape too.
I’ve got a 20 gauge sxs with the tenite stock, it’s held up well.

I just saw a double .410 sitting at a Gun Show and it was near mint. $995.00

Got a Savage that belonged to my grand dad. It was made before serial numbers were required.
My grand dad's favorite two meals were Squirrel and Rabbit. I got it when he died in Nov 1968.

About the first 6 inches of the rifling on the 22 on top, is worn to nothing. Shoot it at 25 yds, you'll miss your target by about 5 ft in ANY direction.

I've shot a lot of squirrels with the 410 back in Minnesota. a box of 25 shells of 410 was about $4.00 or less in the 80s.

I'd go thru 300 to 400 rounds of 410 each fall and winter back there...in that old Savage.
