What’s the recommended brand of camo paint in rattle cans for painting synthetic gun stocks. And I presume a clear matte sealer over the paint is advisable, correct? What brand of sealer?

Krylon makes and "ultra flat" in camo colors. I've never used a clear coat with rattle cans or Duracoat and haven't run into any issues, more personal preference than anything.

Definitely Krylon if you want fast drying and good coverage. Rustoleum also makes a camo line which I've had to use because Krylon was not available. I don't get the same results as I do with Krylon.

The Krylon for plastic is good. SEM is sure enough good. I’ll be doing a Remington plastic stock for a barreled action I had done a couple years back that’s been sitting in the safe. I plan to use adhesion promoter that’s recommended for painting plastic car parts, can’t hurt. With that said, I don’t like plastic stocks. I’ll texture or hammer finish and spider paint a wood stock in a heat beat and never look back. I can shape, inlet and bed a laminated or wood stock.

Thanks, Billy

I used Krylon on a couple of stocks and they came out ok.
Lately though I’ve turned to hydro-dipping.... lots of really great options and they hold up well.
In my case, they also look a whole lot more professional.

I've done several turkey guns for myself and my buddies.

Krylon rocks.

Here is the story on my first one: Bubba Paints his Turkey Gun

Yes it does.
