Looking at picking up a pair of these and the description says "Fixed/Focus Free". I don't know how that would work. Called ATN could not get in touch with a knowledgeable person. Got a link to the manual, no method of focusing listed/identified.

Does anybody have any experience with these and what was the focus like? or can you explain how it is going to stay in focus or be focused from 50 yards to 1000 yards. I didn't think it was physically possible to have optics in focus over large distance ranges. Thanks.

No, why? BTW, when I asked ATN if these binoculars were auto focusing - they said "no"

Not sure what one can expect from a $500 LRF/bino? I know I wouldn't expect much, and the warranty is weak. I'd pony up some extra cash and get something more proven. Also not a fan of pairing the RF with the same brand scope that sorts things out for you. Sig tried that already and the reviews were mixed at best.

Any fixed focus binos I've seen were schitt on their best day. Guaranteed to give you a headache if you do much glassing.

Have no intention a pairing it with my scope which is not necessary to to get value out of the internal ballistic calculator for me. I already have a set of Leica's Bino/RF so this is a just a second pair that I was going to fool around with.

Anybody have actual experience with these?

Even if you don't "pair" it with a scope, what would you expect from a $500 unit? I'd expect a POS.

I actually expect a functioning "c+/b-" quality optic. The cost of these types of items have come way down. Consider you can buy a very useable set of binoculars these days for under $300 and a very useable rangefinder for under $200. So, I would not be surprised that a serviceable unit could be had for $500.

Again, my real question is: For those who have used them; regarding the "fixed/focus free" description - how does/would it actually "work"?

That's about what I expect from ATN.

ATN also left their customers dangling when MANY of their products failed in the field, and would do nothing to honor the warranty or make the customers who spent their hard earned money with ATN whole again.

They're fabulous, buy two pair. One for now and one for later
