Rebore to 358 winny. Cut barrel back. Make a good iowa deer gun. I'd be tempted but already have a whelen carbine rem 750. Glws

Is the barrel length 22” or is this a carbine by chance, can’t quite tell?

Has the recall on the firing pin been done? I believe Winchester recalled the 100 for a firing pin replacement. Original firing pin would break and the rifle would go full auto, cooking off a full magazine. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I don't believe the firing pin has been replaced, but I've been told Winchester will still correct it if you contact them. I did run a full clip through it before I listed it last spring with no problems to make sure it functioned properly. This is not a carbine.

Why do rifle looneys insist on "reboring" every thing. Just shoot some 180's and save a bunch of money. Nobody or no deer could tell the difference!

If you contact Winchester they can tell you if they sent the replacement parts for the recall. Doesn’t necessarily mean the work was done. Last one I did they provided the parts and a $25 gift card but that’s been probably 10 years ago. Carbine in a factory stock should have a barrel band similar to a Ruger 10/22

Called Winchester today and gave them the serial# of this rifle. They told me that the firing pin hasn't been replaced under their recall. All I have to do is remove the firing pin, send it to them in a padded envelope along with my name, address, and the serial number. They will get right on it and send me the replacement. This is a 24 year old recall on a 59 year old rifle. Unbelievable!!!

I did two of the recalls myself on model 100's within the last 2 years. There are a couple of videos on YT that definitely help. It is a little tricky so pay attention and take some photos as it is coming apart and you be fine. Good Luck.
