700 BDL 30-06. no need for turrets, no need for side focus, etc. Something that flows with the lines and aesthetics of a classic rifle look. i have a couple of ideas just looking to see what you all would do. more of a fun day dream while I am drinking coffee this morning.

I have a 2.5-8 Leupold on mine. Depending on your intended use, a 3-9, 2-7 or 6x would also serve you well.
I am continually astounded at how quickly people make up their minds on little evidence or none at all. Jack O'Connor

I'd look on Ebay and find a cherry old gloss Redfield 3-9x40 AO or 4-12x40 AO, Mike out at Ironsight Tulsa can completely rebuild one if you ever have any trouble, same thing i did on a pre-64 Westerner in 264 Mag, scope is more than clear enough for legal hunting hours and llooks right too, good luck Big G.

I'm always looking for same but in reality there's several choices ....since Leupold has a lifetime warranty it's always a good choice for a set and forget scope My 6x Leupold gets used the most, at dusk I can see deer way past legal shooting hours. I carry a different rifle/scope setup if I'm hunting woods.

I am perusing that very site with that similar thought as well.

Gloss tube does limit the options but nothing like it for the classic clean look.

Swarovski Z3 3-9x36mm if your not budgeting.
If you are, a used gloss 3-9x40mm Leupold Vari-X IIc; they pop up at least every other week on the classifieds here.

It’s hard to beat the look of a gold ring Leupold on a BDL rifle. I like a little more magnification so might go with a 4.5-14 x50 like I have on my 25-06. It looks and works great for anything a simple duplex 2nd focal plane hunting scope was designed to do. The 4.5 bottom end is OK up close for me but not necessarily perfect if you were running deer with dogs or ultra thick woods. The 14 is good for normal rages 600yards & closer.
The old Zeiss Conquest 3-9x40 would look good & function well. A 3-9 x40 Trijicon accupoint would be on my list if shooting in dim light was most common.

Vx3hd 3.5-10. With CDS. I know you said no turrets. But this scope checks all the boxes. Clean and simple and will cover all your basic needs.
All of them do something better than the 30-06, but none of them do everything as well.
