I have 2 Gerber Pro-Guide Clip Point model 950 knives that need new homes. Gerber made these from 1990-1998 from 440C stainless steel. Manufactured in Portland. To me, this is the perfect knife for elk, and not too big for deer. I carry two in my hunting pack. Here‘s some detail I found on a search: “Gerber Pro Guide Series 950 Clip point blade. Gerber 950 ProGuide Series Clip Point Hunter Knife with 4 7/8" Blade & Sheath. These knives were made from 1990-1998 by Gerber in Portland, Oregon. This single plain edge clip point blade has a matte finish 440C stainless steel blade with narrow bright edge bevels measuring 4 7/8 inches in length. An arced finger rest is provided for a more forward grip and the bladed is slightly canted edge-ward. The blade markings are on the ricasso, reading 'GERBER; 950' on one side and 'PORTLAND, OR; USA' on the other. The full tang has textured black glass filled nylon grip scales secured by three pins and features a forward finger rest and a rear lanyard hole. The knife is 9¾ inches long and weighs 6 ounces. The knife comes with a black Cordura nylon sheath with a folded back belt loop and has a snap closing retention strap wrapping around the finger rest to snugly hold the knife. A tag stitched to the sheath reads 'GERBER; LEGENDARY BLADES' interspersed around a sword in stone logo with 'MADE IN U.S.A.' below. Sheathed, overall length is 10¾ inches with a weight of 7.8 ounces.” These knives look to have been sharpened but they don’t look used. I’m not representing them as new, since I didn’t buy them new, but they look pretty good. Snaps on the sheaths are tight. And no, they weren’t stored in the sheath. $80 each, you pick. Add $12 for shipping. They don’t make them like this anymore. P

I have the folded version of this knife. It is my best hunting knife period. It has cleaned dozens of deer, elk, bear, hogs and other critters. It’s always with me on a hunt. Always.
It’s excellent.

It’s excellent. I’ve never seen a folder in this shape. Gator?

It’s excellent. I’ve never seen a folder in this shape. Gator? It came with the Velcro camo kit with sharpener and gut hook. From early 90s. Looks exactly like it with that steel, but a folding knife. Forgot model. Gerber knives now suck balls compared to these knives.

RAS I have one of these Gerber Skinners. Bought it in the early 90s. Skinned a bunch of Mule Deer and Elk with it. Great knives. I have not used it for a while. Been meaning to have a leather sheath made for it and start carrying it again. Picked up the Gerber folder that is from the same era not too long ago. A Blackie Collins design. Weighs a whopping 2.5 ounces. Awesome knife.

I have the drop point version of this knife. I don’t know how many deer I’ve processed with it but its a lot. I think the best thing about these knives are the handles, they are large and easy to use/control.
