This is going to be long so I'll first give the book stats...

Steyr Duett is an over-and-under combination rifle with a free-floated barrel presented by Steyr Mannlicher around 2014. The rifle is equipped with an automatic decoking device that is activated when the rifle is opened. This is done by turning the lever on the rear on of the rear end of the receiver to the right. The cocking slide is positioned on the rear end of the receiver on the action tang and must be pushed forward to fully cock the rifle until a locking pin engages into the slide and a red dot indicator is visible. Pressing and pushing the locking pin on the cocking lever moves the slide to the rearmost position, which allows for safely loading and unloading the rifle.

Each barrel on the rifle has a dedicated trigger mechanism. The front trigger operates the lower rifled barrel, and the back trigger controls the upper barrel which is suitable for shotgun gauges. Steyr Mannlicher Duett can be disassembled in a few simple steps for maintenance purposes. The sights are pre-installed, with the front sight being adjustable for elevation and the rear one for windage.

Steyr Mannlicher Duett is available in the barrel length of 600 mm (24-inch).

In October I was at Steyr’s facility completing the purchase of 50+ rifles for the shop. While there we were discussing the new Monoblock rifle when I asked if they had one I could examine.
We went to the gun vault to get it when I saw the Duke. I asked about it and was told it was brought in in 2013 attached to an order for a California gun shop and it had been in the vault since. The reason was that an employee wanted to buy it but never was able to get the funds together.
Obviously I had to have it.
After finishing our buisness I spoke with Mr. Hoff who conducted the research for me.
The gun is a DUKE grade. Grade IV wood.
Meaning, minus gold inlay in the panels it is the top grade produced (GRAND DUKE). This particular variant, DUKE 12ga over 30-06 is one of only SIX imported.
The engraved panels are of the MASTER'S ENGRAVEING Arabesque style. The engraver who did the panels is a lady who worked for Merkel as steyr was importing and working with Merkel that year. Her name, KRONSTEINER,can be seen on the left panel in the stump base on the lower right.
I feel that the gun is very interesting as the left plate shows a turkey, an animal not inhabiting the European continent.
The mount was imported from OPTICS TRADER in Slovenia and is a MAKipp mount for 12mm rail, 30mm rings.
The scope shown in the accompanying pictures is not included in the price.
The gun has had 3 rounds of 12GA 2.75" #4, and 13 rounds of Hornady 150 gr. American whitetail. My colleague fired one round of bird shot and one round of a Norma load at steyr the day I purchased the gun.

The rifle has not been hunted with and with the single exception of me regulating the barrels and sighting in the scope, it's never been outside Steyr's facility.

The rifle will ship in a factory hard case and will include a letter of provenance from Steyr regarding the number imported and rarity.


The only item I would be interested in as trade would be a new 30-06 MAUSER 98 Standard Diplomat.

I have a couple dozen photos but I'm not able to load them due to size.

Carried her out last day and shot a deer. Nice, short stalk, shot 1 round of 150 SP from the knee at about 130 yards.
Right behind the shoulder and a 20 yard death run.
I'm still deeply interested in a stutzen k3.
While I really love this gun, I'm just not a shotgun guy. The utility of having both is wasted on me.

Blue book puts it at 7700, but, BB doesn't take rarity into count.
I'm willing to take multiple firearms. K3, K5 stutzen, Blaser, SAKO, STEYR other Mannlicher rifles...I prefer deep blue, grade 4+ walnut, .30 Caliber, 7mm (non magnums),
meteric calibers are fine.
