Called me out of the blue. I’ve never met him or talked to him but I have several of his stocks. I had emailed him a couple months ago but never got a reply. He called and apologized for not getting back to me then explained his new business model and told me he’s inletting everything with a CNC now and not molding them so barrel contours are endless. He gave me his cell number and told me to call anytime and offered me an amazing price to restock a custom Mauser that I was originally emailing him about. I am an engineer by trade and ended up talking about his new equipment for quite a while. I can’t imagine talking to a nicer guy. I was really surprised he took the time to reach out.

Back almost 40 years ago my buddy Wally sent his Ithaca Mag10 to Mark to lengthen the forcing cone. I still remember my friend telling me what a nice guy Mark was to deal with and the work was stellar.

Interesting that Bansner's company can inlet their stocks for any barreled action while McM's current ownership can't be bothered to inlet their stocks for many common barreled actions. What a contrast in attitude toward their respective customers.

I talked to Mark at the Dallas Safari club show last year and found him to be as friendly as described here. I hope I get the chance to visit with him again this weekend.

Mark has always been very helpful and gracious when I have talked to him on the phone. Really interesting to hear about the CNC inletting. Sounds like I need to give him a call. Been meaning to try out some of his drop in readies; this is the nudge I’ve needed. Thanks for the update.

I've purchased 2 of his "new" production stocks to finish. I finished many of his "previous" production stocks in the past for 700's and M7's. Most of the time I purchased them online or through email and never spoke, just emailed specs. On the last "new" production stock he called to verify a couple of things. He was very personable and a pleasure to speak with.

Mark is great to deal with! and makes a very nice hunting stock. Now that he is using CNC this will make the product even better.

I always enjoyed talking to Mark. I've owned several Bansner Ultimate Rifles. IMO some of the best customs ever built.
