CZ527 no longer offered.
CZ600 seems like a rather large step backwards. Re-barrel of 600 seems like a impractical consideration.
Howa mini seems OK yet generally in need of replacement stock & new bottom metal & not sure about trigger options.
Are there other mini actions out there that look like good offerings for a hunting rifle?

I’d look for a used 527 if you’re in the market for a mini bolt.

I had a Mini-Mauser in 223 years ago that I really liked. I bet the SOB that stole it from me likes it too.

I ran one of the new 600s in 7.62 russian with some steel cased Barnaul from a spam can. Scope was a leupold 1-4. Sub MOA guarantee is true. I had 3 cloverleafing at 50 and .8 at 100 through a razor 7.62 Ti.

I have a Charles Daly mini-mauser that I bought for my daughter to shoot when she was very little. Good little rifle but everything is scaled down to where it's a little to small for me. I'd really like a larger bolt handle if I were to use it on a regular basis.

Patiently waiting on a Howa Mini .22 Arc. Was about to snap up a 6 when they announced the .22.
If it doesn’t happen in ‘24, I’ll move on to something else…..

In the same dilemma as you. Been after a nice .223 carbine for a hot minute. I have a 527 carbine in 7.62 and love it, finding its .223 cousin has proved to be difficult.
I really want to like the Howa minis, and maybe I'll build one some day. But after factoring in the cost of a stock and bottom metal their entry level pricing kinda wanes on me.
I lucked into one though that is not on your list, last week I picked up a Sako L461 Vixen in .222. While not quite as common as a round as I wanted, going to be giving the triple duece a try. Lots of guys seem to be fans of it.

Another option, although it’s not an inexpensive one, is a Kimber of Oregon model 84. Beautifully made and maybe easier to find than a CZ 527 and likely no more expensive.

I have a Howa Mini in 223, just like it came from the factory, excpet for the bobbed off magazine release, and the cutdown magazine to make it fit halfway flush. It's a very good shooting litle rifle, but certainly not a slim and trim one. I also have a Howa Mini in 6.5 Grendel that I put in a carbon fiber stock and added the OG bottom metal. It is a very nice little rifle, weighing right at 6 pounds with scope and ammo. However, that stock and bottom metal added another $500 to the cost. I really wish that Howa would bring out a factory lightweight Mini without the plastic and that chunky stock.

I bought several Howa minis when the combo was $425. Sell the bottom metal/magazine for $50, stock for $50, scope for $100 and you are in a really nice barreled action for little money. Even with JO bottom metal and factory second CF stock I'm not in them to much. Trigger is an easy fix by clipping a coil from the spring. I really don't need another, but would buy a .350 legend in a heartbeat if I run across a deal.

I wish Howa would bring out a LH mini action. I would buy several.
