It is very sad. We are about the same age and I was a big “admirer” of hers back in the day. Saw her perform several of her routines at a gymnastics exhibition once, it was cool.
I would have thought that surely she would have made enough in endorsements over the years to be able to have insurance. Perhaps she made a string of bad investments or got scammed out of it, it happens.
Man I hope she can continue to improve and get her health back.

Per the 'no insurance'- 'can't afford it'- the Today interview woman should have said yes Obama drove insurance rates through the roof.

He removed the mandate, thus pretty much ending it. It's out there if you want it but its not forced on you now. She probably wouldn't have qualified anyway, rich folks can't get it....they say you make to much.

A friend of mine owns a 7 unit strip mall, he clears about 200k a year in rent. He went to apply for it and they told him he makes too much to receive it. Then he had a medical scare without insurance and got hammered. Meanwhile, their commercials say 4 out 5 recipients get Obama care for less than 10 bucks a month. Still haven't seen my 2500 a year in savings Obama promised me.

But he was a "hero" He even founded the Mcstain Institute,, for the children right? And helped found and fund a small destitute group fighting for civil rights in the mid east, named after an Egyptian godess,, Isil,Isis somthing like that
