It appears that the Supreme Court may be about to overturn Chevron Deference.
What this means is that federal agencies may be prohibited from enacting rules not specifically authorized by Congress. Good-bye pistol brace rule, FRT trigger rule, etc.
That, my friends, is a very big deal.
If it happens, the weeping, wailing, and gnashing of teeth in DC will be audible as far as San Diego and New Brunswick. And we can all cheer, and call it a good day.
The problem is with the way laws are written. In too many instances, the wording of the law states that interpretation and other details are to be handled by one of the administrative agencies.
You should not use a rifle that will kill an animal when everything goes right; you should use one that will do the job when everything goes wrong." -Bob Hagel

That sums it up nicely.... They get worded like that so the administrative agencies can be run by certain individuals who have no respect for American values and get their thrills by playing dictator and screwing folks over. See how that works? It's all planned in advance.

Well, If the Supreme Court rules it unconstitutional. how's that?
Slaves get what they need. Free men get what they want.
When a federal agency writes "rules" there is no oversight from Congress or any court. In house lawyers for the agency may actually draft the "rule"...and unless somebody has the money to hire legal representation and institute a legal action, the rule will stand. My son and I were personally affected by a rule regarding a road right of way when we were logging...long fight, but the US Forest Service won, because we couldn't afford a legal battle. It was over the use of a road that was open to the public since 1860, over 40 yrs before the Forest Service was even created. Bottom line, they pass rules knowing that they are not legal, but they get away with it because who can afford the fight?
Well this is a fine pickle we're in, should'a listened to Joe McCarthy and George Orwell I guess.
Here are some clips of Neil Gorsuch's comments and questions. Good stuff starts about 1:55.
His point is that Chevron Deference almost always sets the government up to win, and the rest of us up to lose. I think we can discern how he feels about that.
Give a man a fish and he eats for a day. Give a man a welfare check, a forty ounce malt liquor, a crack pipe, an Obama phone, free health insurance. and some Air Jordan's and he votes Democrat for a lifetime.

Yup. If this goes our way... The "agencies" will lose tremendous power (that they were never authorized) and the lefties will go nuts. I surely hope that the fishermen prevail and knock the "agencies" on their rears.
Is Gorsuch the justice that champions giving the country back to the Indians after we won it in a bloody war that lasted decades?
Sort of.
Gorsuch did side with the Leftist on a case about an Indian hunting in Wyoming with out a license and killing multiple bull elk.
After the case was remanded back the indian got caught with child porn and the whole thing got dropped.
This case could be a big deal but even if Chevron Deference is shot down but it will still take years for other cases to be tried and with the NYRPSA case we see lower courts ignoring SCOTUS.
We really need SCOTUS to put a stop to the lower courts ignoring their rulings.
Hoping for the right ruling.
