If you use a cell phone, a tablet, a computer, a smart tv, drive a late model vehicle you are being surveilled. They use private companies to do it. My ex son in law was employed by one. He said there was almost nothing you could do using technology and avoid being spied on. The data is collected stored and sold to marketers and the government. The government knows or can know if you pop up on their radar for some reason.

I think 99% of my Christmas gifts came from one of the prohibited categories. Everyone got new Bibles for Christmas including me and the rest was either Grunt Style or Cabelas socks sweatshirts and gift cards. 😂
