Last October, I failed a colonoscopy. No, they didn't find cancer. They couldn't find anything. I was still too full of crap. They figure my guts slowed down after the chemo. I got rescheduled.

This time through, I've got not one, but 2 jugs of the happy juice to down starting this AM, and continuing until 0100 Monday AM.

Zero Hour, 9 AM.

And I think its gonna be a long long time.

Where's Rocky Raab for the countdown?

Tell Renegade50 when you see him: Pics or it didn't happen-- are you sure???

They most likely were not surprised by this.

Yeah, One of the things I never mentioned during my chemo rants was that there was a great concern about constipation. I had several levels of laxative proscribed. They told me I had to keep eliminating. In truth, I was slow, but fairly steady throughout, and I'd didn't think anything of it all after over a year. Obviously, I wasn't quite over the effect.

Mine was preceded by dulcolax and magnesium citrate. Very thorough cleaning. I did eat lightly for the day prior to starting the countdown. Of course the special prescription juice is going to enrich the pharma cartel.

Doing the countdown for my wife, Shaman. She has a colonoscopy this morning. Between us, we've had something like eight of them over the years and the funny thing is that the "prep" was different for every one of them. Not sure why that keeps changing, except that some of them were particularly disagreeable.

Doc says that since all of mine came up clean, I'm done with them at age 77. Wife however has family history; her father died of colon cancer. So she has this one and probably one more five years down the road.

What’s with old fuggs having to post all their colon health issues on a supposed hunting and shooting forum?

From my experience, just go pour the prep in the toilet. Its going there very very soon anyways. laugh

Best of luck and plan for a great meal afterwards!

It’s an age-related phenomenon, the compulsion to discuss one’s personal situation with strangers, whether or not they’re interested. I’m about the same age, and know the feeling, but usually manage to stifle it. It’s a struggle……

Well, I'll tell you, callnum. Your elders, in their wisdom, are trying to tell you that your "happy go lucky" attitude will someday come back to bite you. You may think you are bullet proof and immortal but so did we. And all these things will come to you, also. The only difference will be whether your Doctor says you have something manageable or to get your affairs in order.

Naturally, you will now reply that won't happen to you. No, not you. Because you're special. Uh huh.

Helps too if you just stop eating about 3 days before

These chow hounds that think they need to demolish a Bob Evans biscuit bonanza, bringing trouble upon themselves. Give it a fuggin rest. Let them guts rumble. Builds character.

Even with non torso surgeries, I stop eating 2 days before.
