Maybe $500 without the box and goodies. The drill&tap job kinda ruined it for collectors......

Killahog: I have a couple of Colt Targetsman pistols and they are fine guns. Love'em in fact. BUT.... those big non-factory holes and those fingerprints (that appear to be etched into the bluing?) ruin that gun for me. As is (if it has the correct factory magazine) I would pay $400.00 for it. I am sure it would still shoot and function fine - good luck if you decide to go for it (or are you selling it?). Hold into the wind VarmintGuy

Thanks for the appraisal, it was a family member’s gun that was bought from his widow from another family member. I want to compensate him fairly and eventually hand the gun down to my grandson. Ironically he paid $400.00 for it .

I tend to agree with the $400 as a shooter. Those big holes ruin the collector value, even if it IS a Colt.

I have a pre-war, made post-war, Woodsman with those same holes. (Paid $200 for it a couple years ago for a knockabout shooter.) I assume the holes are for some long ago optic but am clueless as to what. Anybody here have a clue?

I assume the holes are for some long ago optic but am clueless as to what. Anybody here have a clue? Regardless of the spacing, one could craft a short Picatinny rail, holes cut to fit. I'd trim it to fit that part of the barrel, should be an adequate base for short optics. And, it would look better than those two holes that don't belong. DF
