Anybody know of a very good transmission shop in Anchorage? Have a 96 Dodge Cummins 3/4 ton that needs some service. Hopefully not a complete rebuild. Just changed the filter and cleaned the pan, both extremely packed w/clutch material. Also changed the governor and solenoid. Has 1st and Reverse, but don't shift.

Anyone ever had a shop do a Flush?

Trying to find a local guy who knows what he's doing. Guy I'd like to use is booked for 6 or 8 weeks.

thanks!

Is the guy you want named Devon and lives in the valley?

I'd rather wait for the right person than deal with the fallout from the available one.

I can probably loan you a beater for 6 weeks if that's what you need.

Thanks for the reply, but not Devon. How get in touch with him?
Thanks also for the loaner offer, but not needed.

Appreciate the recommendation.

Give Anthony’s in Kenai a call.

They rebuilt my ‘93 E4OD and did service on my ‘11 6R140

The neighbor was happy with Denali Transmission, and highly recommended them.

Relax alright, my old man is a TV repairman, he's got this ultimate set of tools, I can fix this.

Hogan, bummer on the tranmission! It's stressful. BUT, on the bright side, the reputable shops know all the tricks to make them better than they came from the factory.

Don't skimp out, let the technician build it how he wants it. It's already miserable enough working on a dodge. Then theirs dealing with dodge owners.

DO NOT use Alaska Transmission and Gear. Both the owner and his chief Technician are completely incompetent and will do their best to rip you off. If you need details of the nightmare I went though dealing with them, let me know. After the nightmare, I went to Quality Transmission and they did a great job, both in the rebuild and their customer service.
