Hi,
Recently, in a trade, I got 3 boxes of that 7mm 145 grs Barnes LRX. Reading and thinking about it, seems to be a good all around 7x57 bullet. Have any of you used them?
Thank you!

Haven't used that specific LRX, but have used the 6.5 127-grain and .30 175-grain some in the 6.5 PRC and .30-06. So far the LRXs have worked just like TTSXs when they hit game, and have taken animals from pronghorns to elk with 'em.
Have mostly used the 140 TTSX in the 7mm-08 and 7x57, which worked very well.

Here, as in many places in the world, there is a trend, perhaps will be by law (it is right now inside our National Parks), to not allow to use "leaded" bullets....

It's happening in more than one state here, though often only in certain specific areas.
Personally, I like Barnes Xs (and other monolithics) because they don't ruin as much meat, and penetrate very well.

I haven't in the 7x57 but have in the 7 Rem and 280. Very accurate bullet for me without a bunch of horsing around in each rifle. I think it'd be a dandy in a 7x57 as well.

I emailed Barnes about the LRX bullet line and use in a 7x57 a few months ago. They recommended the 139 gr bullet, for what it's worth. I didn't ask and they didn't say why the 139 over the 145. I suspect the 145 gr is intended for bigger bodied 7mm's.

We took deer with 127 gr and 175 gr LRX this past week or so in 6.5 CM (buddy has a man bun) and .30-06. (Mine). Worked as advertised… dead deer, no run off.

I’ve had great success with that bullet over the years.

That bullet proved the most accurate in my SuperGrade 7x57. Haven't take game with it yet, but have a considerable tally with the 140gn version in my old Johnn Rigby & Sons .275 so expect with reasonable confidence, more of the same.
