Trucks have frames and way better anchor points than an SUV. Add to that a unibody SUV or car often has a plastic wind dam down low and in the way, how would you pull on a stuck one?

Most of the newer ones have a plug you can remove from the front and rear bumper that has an anchor point for a screw in fitting. Many of those are kept with a jack or spare (if they have one) somewhere in the vehicle. Otherwise you would need one. I think it is where I would start unless the vehicle is super stuck.

I just dug out a newer 1500 Ram with my tractor. No hook points on the front. Buried in snow so I couldn't even see any frame in front, but probably would have pulled the air dam off anyway.

I had to blow/bucket snow from the back about 30 feet, pull the truck back with the trailer ball on it.Then go around the front and bucket the snow out that had been packed underneath it.

Once I got it cleared, I had to blow/bucket snow about 60 feet up a small grade then drive it out. If it had hooks, I could have pulled it out in 15 minutes, rather than the hour I spent playing in the snow.

If God wanted you to walk and carry things on your back, He would not have invented stirrups and pack saddles

I have seen them use those soft shackles on the wheel for some of those SUV/minivan recoveries.
