What would be the value of this rifle? It’s a 375 h&h in excellent condition.

Thanks

The 416 458 ones seem to go quick. A ton of gun for the money.

They are wanting 1850 plus tax which would be a little over 2k out the door. Thanks for the input so far.

I found the 375 rsm too heavy for a 375 - especially the earlier ones with the barrel band captured in the stock. But they are beautiful rifles, and it is getting harder to find nice examples like the one shown.

I’d pick it up if I were you. They are only going up in value since no longer made. These are the finest bolt rifles made by a major American manufacturer IMHO.

PM me with the store info if you decide not to buy it. With that scope on board, I’d buy it today. And I don’t even need it. I’ll even toss you fifty bucks as a finder fee.

It is heavy but that should help with recoil. I already have a whitworth in this caliber but this one caught my eye. It is a beautiful rifle.

Model 77 MKII RSM made from 1990 to 2010.

Gen 1, about 1990-1997 are the ones with heavy 24" barrels, front sling stud on barrel band inletted into forearm wood.

Gen 2 was in gunshops in 1998 (or before) when I bought the .416 Rigby version, differed only in banded sling stud moved out of wood for usual barrel location.
Muzzle diameter was 0.810", 24" barrel, rifle weighed 10.75 lbs bare/unloaded.

Gen 3 came certainly by 2002 when they added the .458 Lott to previous chamberings of .375 H&H and .416 Rigby.
With Gen 3 the barrels were slimmed down and shortened to 23".

The Gen 3 .458 Lott I looked at in 2002 had a 0.750" muzzle diameter, 23" barrel and weighed 9.5 pounds.
That would have been perfect if only it were chambered in .458 WinMag instead of .458 Lott.

If that .375 H&H has a 23" barrel I would consider it more desirable than the older models.
Not as heavy as the older models.
If you could measure the muzzle diameter that would be enlightening.
Hopefully it's a little slimmer than 0.750" muzzle diameter.
A 2023 price was about $2000 for NIB, $1500 for excellent condition.
This is a year later so considering the ravages of Bidenomics inflation, $1850 ain't bad.

This rifle was shipped in 2007 according to the serial number. That would make it a gen 3, is that correct?

That would be correct. Get a set of your verynear calipers on the end of the barrel where it sticks out ahead of the banded ramp, please.
Nice wood grain in the grip of that one.
Not a subliminal message: Buy it.

Nice grain through the buttstock on this one. It is heavy for a 375 but just about perfect for a 450 Rigby. The conversion on this one is not as easy as if it were a 416 Rigby - rebore, open bolt face, alter rails, probably new or modified mag follower and some reshaping of the feed ramp, especially for the flat nose solids like the CEBs.

Bottom line - buy it! Deal with perfecting it later. BTW, slimming the stock by someone who know how to do it changes the character of the rifle decidedly.

A classic and classical American DGR.

That's a chunk of change to put into a Ruger. I would look used customs if I wanted a larger bore rifle.

Thanks for the replies. Seems some really like it and some not so much. Being in Alabama I have no use for this caliber other than it being cool. I’m going to check back with the pawnshop in a week and see if I can get a better price.

Passed one up last March for 1600 and no scope. I didn't think it was worth that but a dealer friend snapped it up and sold it for over 2k 2 wks later.mb

A legendary rifle,IMO.I have three in 458 Lott.Feeding is awesome, accurate, integral iron sights, good trigger, good recoil pad. It's a no nonsense go to rifle. That said, one can spend thousands of dollars on a custom rifle and still not get one to work as good as a Ruger 77 MK2 Magnum.Someone lately offered to sell me a new 458 Lott out of the box for reg.retail price and I somewhat regret that I declined the offer.

Swift, you have three all in the same caliber? And I thought I was bad :-)
