Let me say I would love it if Trump gets reelected and he will have my vote if he is the republican nominee . I like his policies and could care less about his tweets, ego etc . I live in Alabama and most of us down here will support him but I fear there are so many people in other parts of the country and the urban centers just will not vote for him. So many younger people are brainwashed against him. Down here you feel like he would be a slam dunk but I was wrong before and wonder if the republicans would have a better chance with someone else (who??). What do yall think?

It's going to be a lot closer than most will admit.

Can he win? Yes

Yes he is. But like Calvin says, it’s always an uphill battle. Regardless of who they run, D’s start with NY, CA and IL in their pocket. That’s a lot of electoral votes. A number of other states are nearly as certain.

Would someone else have been more electable? Probably. Doesn’t matter now. Speak your mind and support your candidate. Ignore most of what you hear from the press. Lots of that noise is agenda driven.

GA, PA, MI, WI, AZ are really the only states that matter.

All the rest we can just add up the delegates and hand them out, because we already know how the vote will go.

The polls say Trump is ahead of Biden so that would make him electable, at least at this point. I'm not saying the polls are infallible, but Trump is polling much higher than he did in 2016 or 2020.

I don't think the GOP has anyone more electable than Trump. Remember that the Democrat smear machine would immediately go to work on another Republican like DeSantis or Haley as soon as it looked like they would be the nominee. So far, they've been spared the rough treatment Trump has received, but that would instantly change as soon as they looked like a possible nominee.

I think it's hard to say what would happen if the Dems dump Biden for another candidate.

We'll have to win so big, that cheating won't help the Bolsheviks. If the margin is really large, it makes it hard to cheat and cover it up.

Not sure where people get the idea that people won't vote for President Trump. In 2016 he got around 63 million votes. In 2020 the media told us that he had lost a lot of support, trying to get people to not vote for him. He got 74 million votes in 2020.

No matter how you slice it, Trump had a lot more support, and votes, in 2020 than in 2016. That was after 4 years of constant attacks and lies by the media, Democrats and too many "Republicans". I see no reason why people who voted for him in 2020 wouldn't do so again in 2024. There have been 3 years of very open and obvious reasons for people who voted against him in 2020 to vote for him in 2024.

Trump looks worried like something he doesn't know about is going to happen. Dumping Bidden might be one thing that's likely, but for Haley to win would change things too.

It would tell loads about the future and how stupid people in general are if he is not elected.

No. He can't win. He'll get less than 46% of the total vote that he got in 2016 and 2020. He can't win with less than 46% of the vote. His supporters are more enthusiastic for him than ever before, but so are those who don't like him. Not a single voter that does not like him will sit this one out. More of the same. And if you throw in the abortion issue we are looking at a disaster for the GOP in 2024.

To some, the answer to that question makes no difference.

If a fair election can be guaranteed, I believe he will win but I'll live with the results.

If Trump would have accepted his loss, built his brand, focused on Biden's flaws, he'd have it in a walk. But he is so damaged and so incapable of personal growth, and his conduct since the election so reprehensible, that now it will be close.
