I am about to buy a kimber model 84 stainless in 6.5 cm .
I already have threr 260 rem rifles but they are not stainless but
They are super accurate .I thought this kimber 84 hunter stainless
At just 5.5 pounds would be a good lightweight rifle to add
Without breaking the bank. THE down side is it adds another caliber to fool with but it's a good buy for the price .I don't like ruger Americans the way they bolt so rough .I was wondering if any of yall had experiences with yhe kimber hunter stainless 84 rifles .I have heard either people hate kimbers or love them.

All Kimber Hunters are stainless, but some come with a black Cerakote finish.

I have 4 of them, they shoot fine groups with both factory ammo and reloads. I don't love the detachable magazine, but they work fine and you can carry a spare loaded magazine in lieu of individual cartridges if so inclined.

You can buy the 84M Pro Desolve Blak stocks directly from Kimber for $185 if you don't care for the tan stocks. Just call them at 888-243-4522 and order part number 1803158.

Like mine. One of my favourite hunting rifles.

Buy a couple spare mags. You’ll get used to them.

I have three of them - 6.5, 7-08 and 308.
The 6.5 is by far my favorite!

If I needed a rifle, the Hunter would certainly be on my short list. My son has had one since the beginning, with zero issues. The mag is one of the better ones, flush-fit, and seems to stay put.

Picked up a new M84 Hunter in .257 a couple years ago. Shoots sub MOA as stated by Kimber, actually my best groups are nigh half MOA with 100 gr. E-Tips.

Didn't care for the tan stock so I dropped the action into a Highlander camo KRYPTEK stock which is a little more pleasing to my eye. Still plan on painting the original stock further on up the road.

Overall, I'm very pleased with the rifle:

I had a 84 L Hunter in 280AckImp. I developed several loads for it and killed several deer with it over a couple years. It never quite fit me right (6ft 5in with long arms) so I sold it.

All that being said I liked the looks and feel of the rifle and just like an earlier comment, I really liked being able to carry spare rounds loaded into a separate magazine.

They are good rifles. I was a long time 260 fan but started going to Creedmoors as soon as they were announced. The Creedmoor is a better case design and the Sammi reamer specs and twist rates are better and it's a bit shorter.

You can share bullets with your 260 and I prefer that each rifle has its own lot of brass anyways so having a different headstamp can make that easier. Only downside is you can't share ammo between the two but if your doing precision loading you'd only do that in an emergency anyways. I still have two 260s but now have about five 6.5 Creedmoors. I just sold a nice kimber 6.5 to a fire member. I had only shot a few rounds through it but it shot well.

I have another that's an 84 limited 1 of 1000 or classic or something that has a black coated action with a SS light weight barrel and a walnut stock that I really like the way it points. I need to get it out and see how it shoots because it's still NIB.

People love to tease about Creedmoors but they really are great rounds. I love my 22 Creedmoor, my 6 Creedmoors, and my 6.5s. I'd really like to do a 7 Creedmoor sometime too. I've been having fun shooting 180 elds from my 18.5" 7-08 fieldcraft. I think a 7 Creedmoor would be fun too.

OR- you can have your Hunter stock hydro dipped in any of hundreds of choices of camouflage, to your taste. Hydro-dippers have sprung up all over the country now and can be very cost efficient. I had my Hunter 7-08 dipped by a company based in Montana, but just recently found a new dipper located less than a mile from my house!

Yes. I bought one this summer, and have shot the heck out of it. They come with a muzzle break for some reason.......

I love Kimbers, I really do, however, it's a gamble on certain Models. I.E, I bought a Hunter Pro Desolve .270 a few years back that was a lemon. Scope base screwholes were not perpendicular with the bore. Plus, the rear scope base took #8 screws and front took #6! Magazine didn't want to latch up right. It must have been a Friday afternoon gun! I finally got it settled down, but scope was at end of windage limit, not a good idea. Magazine pretty much stayed in after some pocketknife work, ha. Ended up trading it to a guy along with the scope. He was happy with it, me? Nah, I'm too OCD, ha. I see the Hunter model all the time out here in Utah, somebody likes them!

All things considered, it seems like buying locally is the smart move anymore is you want to avoid QC issues. Online prices have pushed local ones down somewhat.
