Bought a savage 22 mag with synthetic stock . The comb height is perfect to look through my scope .
The problem is that the comb is thin near the top . When I get a comfortable cheek weld my eye is
aligned outside the edge of the scope . Does anyone make a cheekpiece that doesn't raise the comb ?
Or is this going to be a DIY project ? wink

Leather lace up cheekpiece a la M1 Garand. They also make a black synthetic one .

Not pretty.

You could most likely customize it with fiberglass, bondo, or some such. I had a Brown Precision on a M98 that I did that to, wallowing out the thumb area and adding a palm swell to it to fit my hand better.. My brother liked it so well I did a RU77 the same for him.

That’s a plus with synthetic stocks. My dad took out a portion of a comb on a walnut stock and added a good size piece of walnut and then shaped it to fit. It looked pretty good and functioned well.

I prefer classic.

Various stock packs available that can solve that problem.

Thinking about the ITC cheek rest in leather. It allows for adjustments. Can order a brown one for my 308
( which needs higher comb ) Then play with it on savage synthetic stock. If it works I'll order a black one
for it . After all we want our rifles to be color coordinated .

If you don't want the comb height raised, I'd suggest buying one of the elastic stock sleeve made to hold spare cartridges and use packing foam to build the side up to the thickness that works the best for you.
