You better hurry your ass down to TX, I’m going in the morning to lengthen the lead.

Are you covering a lot of open/mixed farm country or are you just that wrapped up in pigs? Killing 3 or 4 with a rifle here is tough due to all the wooded area and cover.

Got sidetracked hunting elk and didn’t go chase pigs. Cow gave me the slip and the two bulls, a 7x5 and 7x none stood around gawking like they knew season was over for them. Shot a coyote as consolation prize. Look close on the skyline and the two bulls are up there. [Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]

I hunt a mix of farmland and creek bottoms. All just luck of the draw poking around known haunts or places guys tell me they saw pigs on recently. I don’t bait them or anything, just put my nose in the wind and creep through the cover listening for them. Then try to position myself where they have to cover some open ground to get away when the shooting starts.

The bunch yesterday had about a dozen in it and I was able to drive them away from the creek bottom into a quarter section of native grass with plum thickets. After the initial mele I just kept after the escapees and jumped them again.

That sounds like a fun way to hunt hogs.
Take care,

Called her in to about 40 yds, he got a little too excited and missed his shot, dear ol dad put the training wheels on her while she was running at about 100 yds and as she stopped to bite her Texas heart shot wounds he put another in her.

Laws aren't preventative measures. In other words, more laws won't prevent gun crime from happening.

The wind was in our favor with this dog.
18 steps from our stand to where it dropped.
Impulse 22-250/Pulsar XP50 LRF.
The LRF wasn't needed.

Recently set up a thermal rig and got my first confirmed fawn eater with it tonight. 150 yards.
