I have been thinking about a new build. A 375/308 on a Remington model 600 action. 20" barrel. going to call and talk to JES Reboring. He bored a ruger M-77 out to .375 a few years ago for me and I've thumped a few bull elk with it now. Has anyone built one before or have any experience with one? Took a nice bull this year with a custom 308 Norma I built on a 98 Mauser action. So it's broke in and I need a new project.

Cool project and good luck! Back in 2016, I had necked up some 358 brass to take the old .375 270 grain Partitions. I think it's called the .308-375 jaguar? First chambered by John Dougherty, in a savage 99.

The 375 Raptor is what you’re looking for. 375 Raptor

That Raptor sounds pretty good! I have a 375/350 in a custom Mauser with a 20" barrel. I've been going with either Speer Hot-Cor or Barnes TSX 235gr bullets. Accurate on paper, no fur with it yet. Have fun with your project!

Small fry, Rl10x gave 2250 fps from a 20" barrel. I think I worked up to 44.5 grains. This was a weird custom gun, and I've never seen another one. It was based on some sort of short action mauser and I don't even remember the name of. I think the action originally made in Germany. Gun was light weight!
I think the 375 raptor is fkn stupid, when a guy could simply neck up 308 and be done. I wouldn't even give them credit for reinventing the wheel. It devolved from the 375 jaguar.

Agreed. I’d have to think about it but 9.3x51 through just strait necking up a 308 might still get decent velocity.

The 358Winchester would be a better choice.

I built something similar on 375BB levergun. I had a less than pristine levergun and simply had the chamber opened up using a 308 reamer with a 375 pilot. The result is a rimmed version of the 375/308. I use off the shelf Redding dies in 375/308 and a 30/30 shell holder. Brass is either necked up 356 or 307 Win - I bought a decent supply of brass when Winchester locally were having a stock reduction and I picked them up very cheaply.
Overall, I’m happy with it and it’s a decent power upgrade to the 375 Win. I cast so finding the right FN bullets is easy for me.
For a bolt gun you have a number of different pills in 235gr. The Speer pill is cheap and good. You can’t expect too much velocity to drive heavier pills but if you want something tougher, if you can find them, Woodleigh made a bonded 235 gr PP pill and there is always the Barnes X pills which would probably be the toughest expanding pill in that weight. Woodleigh also make a 235gr Hydrostatic if you’re looking for a solid.

Kinda in the same ballpark.... very pleased with the 375/350 using the Speer and Barnes 235gr bullets and IMR4064. First one was the bull, wanted to be about an inch high, next three were right there... 100 yards.

Nice work on the 375/350RM. 235gr pills don’t intrude into the powder space and work quite nicely.

The Raptor is your best choice if you are limited to 2.8" mag length. If you can go longer in your mag box, a 308 necked up would be slightly better performance and easier to make. If you don't like trimming the Raptor, you can use 300 Savage or any flavor of manbun brass.

Not to rain on anyone's parade but 9.3 B/S has interested me for a while. I can get some 350 RM cases. I know where they are located. But I already have the 376 Steyr in the stable. My curiosity runs wild on medium bores. Be Well Brothers, RZ.
