Several of my ancestors fought and died under this flag 57th Georgia Infantry Company B. A coincidence. One of my great uncles was an infantryman in 40th Georgia Infantry, Co. B. He was wounded in battle, taken prisoner, sent to the Yankee Prison at Camp Chase in Ohio. He died there of his wounds in 1864. Yankee prisons were not any better than the Confederate prisons. L.W.

Union prisons were worse. The mistreatment of Confederate prisoners was not for lack of resources, it was intentional!
